The Kimberleys, Western Australia.

Tunnel Creek.
We left Broome with great memories of time well spent on beaches of sunsets, staircases to the moon, mangroves, of course we can't forget the camels and the clear blue waters for Fitzroy Crossing across the Kimberley ranges.  Some roads were still closed due to flooding in March, including the Gibb River Road......oh! what a shame for Daniel.....thanks be to God for me!!!!

But then we suffered....we stocked up on our groceries but didn't buy any alcohol to take with us....oh and that was a 'big' mistake......because when we arrived at Fitzroy Crossing there was no sale of any alcohol permitted! so let's just say that we indeed had a very very dry spell.
Opening to a new world of treasure!
With no time to waste we headed out to Tunnel Creek and Windjana Gorge country taking a (not so longed for!) 4wheel drive track...in other words the Bunuba peoples country and Jundamurra!  We loved it!

A beautiful oasis in the middle of nowhere..Tunnel Creek
The opening to Windjana Gorge
A bit of hiking had to come
No booze......just water!
We camped under stars under our tent once we got that set up....but we forgot something.......the bedding! that is the blow up mattress we had with the Volunteer grounds man paying us a visit with his cigarette lighter blowerer uperer once he saw that I had to blow up the mattress using Daniel's gismo using his battery! Hey presto! in 5 minutes mattress ready for action....but what about the blankets for the night! Oh Shit! we left them at the caravan............no worries, we did have a bottle of white wine (not that that would warm us...when the temperature was going to be 8 degrees over night!) but the boy scout in Daniel, built a fire, so we warm until 10pm that night.....then we froze.  No blankets......no problem.....we put on all the other clothes we had in the car! Righto! we  really didn't sleep so soundly......realizing that we had to have a permanent list in the car of the things we needed to have when we didn't have the van and decided to go camping!

If that wasn't enough we were pulled over by the 'local establishment', I was driving of course...sealed road.....(I love sealed roads!) and asked for my license which I didn't have.....so I offered Daniel's! ha!  I was asked my name.......'Marysia'...obviously strange.....'Please spell it' .....um'  M a r y s i a '   Oh gee Daniel I didn't slur did I? well we've been dry since Broome, and  we were dry when we went camping....so maybe we should have had something after all...maybe then we wouldn't have forgotten the bedding!!

Can we swim?

I don't think so!

Little House on the Prarie

Towels, pants, shorts, tshirts, jackets, all good.....no blankets neccessary!
